IN FULL BLOOM is my first book. I'm on the first rewrite, so I want to share some of my process as I make my way toward publication. I had no idea how to write a book when I started. I just knew I wanted to write love stories with happy endings. I wanted characters that inspired me, locations that meant something to me, plus fashion and design elements from my previous careers. I've read a lot (lot lot) of books about writing, about technique, characters, plot, dialogue- everything I could find in the library, on Amazon, or that was given to me by friends or suggested by other writers. There is at least one nugget in every book. Some are loaded with basic information, some with inspiring ideas. Classes and seminars, webinars and blogs, all helpful too. Books in my genre, books not in my genre, TV and movies, all have a little something to offer. I borrowed BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S from the library on audiotape, listened to it in my car, then watched Audrey Hepburn in the movie to see the differences. Stuff like that.
